Kites
Art 160 Intermediate Design

Based upon the notion that "if you don't take risks you don't get gifts," students are challenged to put the books aside and take an intuitive stab at performances. Each designs and builds a kite which is flown on a given day, and must fly to "qualify", but at first many do not. Through trial and modification with the wind as a constant tutor, most finally take to the sky, leaving the designer with a renewed sense of rapport with nature.
