Hanging Laminate Lights (Series of Six)
Spring 2003
Each light is made from one or two plates of steel, each having a cutout in the shape of a halogen light bulb. The bulb is illuminated in position within the cutout so that the plate functions as a planar shade. An interposed plateof glass may be used to enhance the shape of the plates. This arrangement allows the light bulb itself to become part of the form and also allows generated light to follow new paths.

Symbiosis
A bulb and a plant are both held in tension by a common cable. The bulb provides light which keeps the plant alive and prevents it from falling. In turn, the weight of the plant keeps the bulb attached to the cable to allow for electrical contact to power the bulb.
