• EXPE'07 --The Stanford DesignEXPErience will be held on campus in June 2007. Student and faculty work in design and manufacturing will be featured in presentations and a Design Fair. For more information contact Kristin Burns.

• Gunter Niemeyer, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, and, by courtesy, of electrical engineering, was awarded a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) grant from the National Science Foundation.  This grant of $111,298 over one year is to develop a testbed for telerobotic surgery that incorporates notel sensors and control algorithms to provide high-fidelity haptic, or sense-of-touch, feedback.  Read the full story from the Feb 8 2006 issue of Stanford Report.
