Position: Product Design Engineer
Location: San Francisco, California
Description: Astro Gaming is a spin-off from the industrial design firm
Astro Studios. The company is creating a new line of "professional grade"
peripherals and lifestyle products for video gaming enthusiasts. We are
venture-backed and have just launched our first product, the A40 Audio
System, via our e-commerce website in early December. Our products are
priced well above industry norms and we're setting a new standard for
quality and design in this arena. We have a laundry list of new products we
want to roll out in 2008 and we are looking to build out a world-class
engineering team within our organization to create these products.
We're looking for an individual who will excel given a wide range of
responsibilities. These responsibilities would start with providing
engineering guidance during product concept development and continue all the
way through support for products in production. Responsibilities would,
naturally, include all engineering and program management activities in
between. The right individual will be able to take ownership of the product
and bring it to market on time coordinating a combination of internal and
external resources in the Bay Area and in Asia.
Qualifications:
Required
. BSME minimum
. 3+ years experience in consumer product development
. 3-D CAD skills
. 2-D drawing skills
. Program management skills including tracking deliverables and maintaining
the project schedule
. Ability to travel up to 25% of time depending on project schedule and
manufacturing location
. Contribute in multi-disciplinary team setting with an emphasis on great
Industrial Design
. Must help create procedures and documentation as Astro Gaming builds its
Engineering organization
