SUMMARY POSITION DESCRIPTION


Title: Director, Operations
Summary of Responsibilities:
Manage Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Materials
Management functions of the company. The position
is responsible for the identification,
evaluation, selection and management of a set of
key North American external suppliers and
contract manufacturers for a Class 1 medical
device company, with an initial focus on vendors
who can support the launch of the Company’s first product into the US market.
The role includes the development and
implementation of creative supply chain solutions
ensuring that components and subassemblies meet
the company’s cost, delivery, quality and business objectives.
The person in this position will lead internal
and external resources to develop and implement
ideas to continuously improve manufacturing
systems in terms of quality, cost, cycle time,
and capacity, and will oversee facility, process,
layout and equipment needs to meet the production
plan in conjunction with manufacturing and materials.
The position will also liaison between R/D and
vendor base with primary focus on outsource
manufacturing of commercial product. Oversee
testing, validations and qualifications of new
processes, products, and equipment for in-house and outsourced manufacturing.
Experience working with polymers and adhesives,
as well as familiarity with converting is highly desired.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. Education and Training

§ BA/BS in technical or life sciences or
equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA a plus.
2. Required Experience

§ A minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Strong background in medical devices.

§ Strong understanding of medical regulatory process is preferred.

§ Experience with converting (and the associated processes) highly desired.

§ Proven track record creating, directing and
implementing plans and defining and achieving goals is required.

§ Established success in management with
demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to reach objectives.

strong leader, with a successful track record in operations and management.
