Mechanical Designer

Job description
    * Developing production equipment and tool design from concept to
installation. Equipment/tools may be for highly automated production
line, proof of principles, transitory phases, or product
development/test. Designs will mix innovation with industry/company
standards.
    * Support development, material procurement and manufacturing
build and well as installation and sustaining needs.
        * "Designing" includes supporting small teams of engineers by
completing detailing work (design and drawings) on larger projects as
well as working individually on smaller fixturing tasks.
        * "Materials procurement" includes working with standard and
expedited procurements often involving vendor quoting, purchase
requisitions, and addressing vendor questions/needs.
        * "Manufacturing build" includes working with technicians by
addressing part, assembly and vendor issues.
    * Work on multiple projects on a priority leveling basis
    * Work with product development processes, including releasing
designs and bill of materials. Assist with documentation for
equipment release/ hand-off.

  Job requirements
    * BSME or long term design experience preferred, with focus in
mid-size assemblies (500 parts)
    * Proficiency in SolidWorks with assemblies, parts, and drawings
required. PDMworks and Agile experience preferred.
    * Hands-on experience with equipment and tool design including:
mechanisms, pneumatics, linear slides, fixture design.
    * An understanding of basic fabrication methods, principles and
operations.
    * Written documentation skill a plus.
    * High self-initiative with efficiency in daily work practices.
    * A proven track-record of completing tasks within a fast-paced
environment, where multi-tasking and priority assessments are often required.
    * Good Communication skills to work with design engineers,
sustaining engineers, technicians, and external suppliers.
