Tibion is a medical device start-up, located in Mountain View, CA,
developing bionic devices for the mobility impaired. We are in
search of talented, motivated, and hands-on electrical, mechanical,
and software engineers to work in the field of bionic
technology. Applicants should be resourceful, creative, and able to
work in a fast-paced product development environment. In addition,
they should possess leadership skills and work within aggressive
timelines. Specific requirements for each position are described below.

-- Software Developer (Software and Firmware)
Requirements:
This position involves the design of embedded firmware for a robotic
device. The candidate should have development experience with
specifying requirements, designing algorithms, creating firmware,
debugging, and developing/implementing test plans.
Recent experience with embedded C or C++ code in a modern embedded
microprocessor/microcontroller using a RTOS (Real Time Operating
System) is required.

BS or MS in EE or Computer Science or equivalent
2 to 5+ years experience preferred in software design, experience
with embedded systems
Medical device experience preferred
Design experience should also preferably include:
Control systems for robotics
Analog and digital sensor interfaces
User interfaces
Wireless communications

-- Electrical Engineer (Analog/Digital/PCB)
Requirements:
This position involves the design of embedded electronics for a
robotic device. The candidate should have development experience
with specifying requirements, designing analog and digital circuits,
selecting components, creating schematics, PCB layout (a plus),
debugging, developing test plans, and transferring products to
manufacturing. Recent experience with a schematic/layout package is
required. Altium Designer (Protel) experience is a plus.

BSEE or MSEE or equivalent
2 to 5+ years experience preferred in digital and analog design of
embedded systems
Medical device experience preferred
Design experience should include:
Embedded microcontrollers
DC motor drive circuits
Control systems for robotics
Switching power supplies
Analog and digital sensor interfaces
FPGA design (Xilinx)

-- Mechanical Design Engineer
Requirements:
BSME
2 to 5+ years of mechanical design experience preferred, ideally
within medical device product development environment
Solidworks proficient, expert preferred
Ability to prototype design concepts for evaluation and testing
Proficiency with GD&T
Hands-on design experience with machined parts, high/low volume
plastics, mechanisms, electronic enclosures, cabling and sheet metal
Ability to identify, communicate with and manage vendors for
component development and delivery
Ability to document design and methods (drawings, assemblies,
assembly instructions, and BOMs)
Experience developing assembly and manufacturing procedures
(fabrication, methods, and tooling)
Experience developing test methods and equipment
Hands-on experience in medical device design verification and validation
Able to operate within the requirements of applicable regulations and
guidelines (i.e. ANSI, ISO, Internal Quality System and Design
Control, GMP, and FDA)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ability to work on a complex product involving many components and
various engineering disciplines
