The Gaming & Design Technology business unit is a highly
interdisciplinary team responsible for the deployment of new haptic
technology in consumer entertainment products and the deployment of
three dimensional measurement and interaction into industrial

Job Description:
Immersion Corporation has an immediate opening for a Mechatronics
Engineer with strong electromechanical engineering skills. The
position will play a key role in advancing the state of the art in
tactile human computer interfaces by researching, designing, and
developing next generation tactile user interfaces in the field of
Gaming products, as offered by the Gaming & Design Technology
business unit. The ideal candidate will have a good record of
innovation (prototypes, products and concepts) with a strong creative
and artistic attitude, a Bachelor or Masters in systems engineering
or a related field, and at least 3 years of engineering experience in
mechanical, robotics, systems engineering, or a related field.
Specific Technical Duties:
- Electromechanical device research, design and development
- Design and prototype user interface systems for gaming devices
- Develop research prototypes of next generation interfaces
- Manage fabrication and assembly of prototype devices
Required Skills:
- Creative and innovative, with a particularly strong
interest in gaming
- Machine shop and/or fabrication experience
- Capable of building functional electro-mechanical concept
prototypes
- Can-do attitude
- CAD design, preferably with SolidWorks
- Basic control design
- Basic analog/digital electronics
- Masters, 5 years engineering experience preferred
- Excellent English communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to multitask various projects in various disciplines
- Ability to improvise in the field as needed
- Ability to act as technical liaison to outside vendors.
Desired Skills:
- MATLAB/RTW/xPC
- Software skills (C, C++ and application development)
- Firmware, PCB design
- Haptics, robotics
- Actuators/sensors/smart materials
- Machine shop and/or fabrication experience
- Consumer product design experience
