Speck Design is seeking qualified professors, grad students, and
professionals to interview via phone for 1 hour on various topics. We
would greatly appreciate your help in identifying people! The project
looks at how analysts use "big data" in real time to visualize,
troubleshoot and anticipate problems, diagnose root cause issues and
look for patterns. We are providing an incentive of $200 for the time
spent (via digital Amazon gift card). All interviews will be
conducted between 12/6 and 12/17 at a time convenient for participants.

We are looking for:

Data Visualization Expert

This person would be knowledgeable professor, grad student, or
professional who understands visualizing complex datasets using
statistical visualization, information or analytic design, or
information design using cognitive science principles. We want to
better understand how seeing can assist with thinking processes
(causality, comparisons) and best practices that are relevant to
real-time big data visualization.

UI/UX Expert

We are looking for a professor, grad student, or professional who is
adept in UI/UX for mission critical apps with realtime data
(government agencies, air traffic control, process control in
manufacturing, ports/shipping control, casino floor). We are
interested in learning about what best practices exist in navigation,
alerts, reporting, troubleshooting, and the device ecosystem.

Technical Support Expert

We are seeking a VP/Senior Director/Chief of Technical Support. This
could be someone in a medium to large organization that either excels
at technical support or has a state of the art system. We are looking
to learn about industry trends, best practices, and opportunities in support.

Information Technology Expert

This person would be a VP/CIO or equivalent for a medium or large
organization (Fortune 5000 or thereabouts). We are looking for
someone who thinks about how information is needed and accessed
across an entire organization. Among other things, we would like to
better understand if they had the ability to record everything on
their network, what would they do with the data?

Please contact me if you need further clarification or have
questions. If you know of another role or person that we should
consider interviewing instead, please feel free to make suggestions.

Thanks,

Celine
