We are Medical Instrument Development
Laboratories, Inc. (www.midlabs.com), an
established leader in development and manufacture
of specialized ophthalmic surgical devices used
to prevent and cure blindness worldwide.

POSITION SUMMARY:
You are an intelligent, self-motivated, creative,
detailed-oriented, adaptable engineer who’s both
a thinker and a builder. In any of the below
positions you will work independently and in
teams to complete a variety of design,
development, test, research, document writing, and problem-solving tasks.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Ability to multi-task and manage individual and team projects.
Strong communications skills, including speaking,
use of charts, diagrams, and written reports.
Experience in using SolidWorks, Word & Excel.
Internship and/or work experience in a
manufacturing environment, especially in a medical device company.
Experience in the use of standard hand, measurement and power tools.
Attention to detail.

EDUCATION:
MS or BS in an Engineering discipline or equivalent

OPEN POSITIONS:
Mechanical Engineer (Part-time):
Mechanism design, tooling & fixture design,
precision assemblies, GD&T and able to write user
friendly and highly illustrated
manufacturing/inspection procedure and test reports.

Associate Engineer:
Execute a variety of design, development, test,
research, troubleshooting, document writing,
supplier evaluation and problem-solving tasks,
standard hand, power and machine tools, able to use FEA and PowerPoint.

Electrical Engineer:
Have knowledge of basic mechanical standards,
e.g. fastener sizes, etc, while understanding
medical devices, quality systems, and/or
statistics, possess a belief that specification
writing is an integral part of a design process
to produce high quality products and processes,
ability to create data flow or similar diagrams.
PCB layout using Altium Designer, PCad, or
equivalent. Low level or embedded programming
experience in C. Hardware design
(microcontroller, PLD, power converters, and/or analog).

Medical Device Manufacturing Engineer:
Able to write IOQ/PQ or process validation
documents, CNC surface grinders, trained in hand,
power and machine tools, precision bonding,
sterile packaging, and fiber optic cleaving/polishing for laser surgery.

Medical Device Quality Engineer:
Support manufacturing teams in design activities,
validations and audits, familiar with FDA's QSR
and ISO 13485:2003, risk management per ISO
14971, administer CAPA program, GD&T, fluent in Mandarin a plus.
