Mechatronics Engineer, Monolithic Power Systems
  Job Summary:

MPS is seeking a highly self-motivated and very hands-on mechatronics
engineer. This person will use their mechanical background and
electronics/motor control experience to work within a small, new
mechanical design group to demonstrate novel, cost-effective, high
speed and high precision motion control systems based on MPS' eMotion
and BMS technologies. These new concepts can be applied to future
electric transportation and robotic designs, including the design and
build of a full electric multi-terrain vehicle (patent pending),
which is the primary focus of several near term projects.

Essential Functions:

Bridge the disciplines of electrical and mechanical engineering to
drive system design, build, test and deployment:
- Brainstorming and concept development
- Electronic component identification, selection and procurement
- Control system design and implementation
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS in related engineering field + 3-5 years of industry experience
or MS in related engineering field + 1-2 years of industry experience
- Experience designing and building mechatronic/embedded systems
- Good understanding of motor/actuator design and motion control systems
- Capable of coding microcontrollers
- Comfortable in both electronics lab and machine shop environments
- Experience in robot, buggy, car, motorcycle or bicycle design and
build is a big plus
- Oral / written proficiency in English
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
