Overview
The R&D group is seeking a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and is passionate about improving patient care through the design of medical devices.
This position places an emphasis on working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop and test sophisticated medical devices. Candidates must be self-motivated, creative, independent and have an eagerness to learn and work as a team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  * Design and develop components, products, and corresponding processes throughout the design phase.
  * Develop test methods for product evaluation and validation. Develop and execute test method validations.
  * Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Operations to ensure that the transition of products through R&D and manufacturing scale up are smooth and timely.
  * Use CAD technology to create designs.
  * Work from verbal, written or pictorial information to create designs for engineering staff.
  * Perform computations as needed to complete designs (FEA, tolerance, and statistical analysis).
  * Document specifications and revisions and maintain log of all work.
  * Verify all work, and document materials and quantities needed for products/components.
  * Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  * Other duties as required based on Company priorities.
Qualifications

  * A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 3 or more years of experience in developing medical devices, or no less than one year of directly related experience as an R&D Engineer in the medical device industry with an advanced degree.
  * Proven successful experience with Mechanical and/or electrical drawing, knowledge of relevant CAD software required such as Solidworks (preferred);
  * Demonstrated working familiarity with mobile device software development.
  * Must have advanced design and mathematical skills, and sophisticated knowledge of electro-mechanical systems;
  * Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills; and,
  * Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
