Notes:
The Stanford Integrated Manufacturing Association (SIMA) was founded in the early 1980s to support manufacturing-related research and teaching in the schools of Engineering and Business.
- SIMA includes approximately 14 major company partners.
- SIMA supports the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Program and dual MSE/MBA program with fellowships and curriculum support.
- A new venture is the Future Professors of Manufacturing program, aimed at creating a distinguished cadre of faculty in engineering and business who will pursue interdisciplinary teaching and research at universities around the country.
- Two of the SIMA directors (Cutkosky and Prinz) are from the Design Division and the directors of the MSE program (Beach) and the Manufacturing Modeling Lab (Ishii) are also Design Division faculty.
