Company. The successful candidate will develop
and lead new product designs to achieve
successful market introduction of PowerNow
cordless, battery operated products, including
concept development, analysis, prototyping, and testing.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
*Design patentable, innovative, cost effective
solutions for lawn and outdoor maintenance
products using Pro–E 3D CAD modeling software.
*Design gearing, plastic parts, die castings.
Perform component selection, including bearings,
gaskets, switches, screws, gaskets and other components.
*Develop components and systems to achieve
functionality and performance according to
specifications that lead to product introduction
of battery-operated lawn and outdoor maintenance products.
*Create development testing regimes, including
prototype and benchtop subsystem tests.
*Perform engineering analyses of products: use
and/or coordinate use of design tools such as
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Design for
Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA), tolerance stack
calculation, and stress/strain calculation, etc.
*Project management to include defining and
documenting project parameters; developing,
implementing, and monitoring project schedules;
providing production and technical support in product design process.
*Works closely with a wide variety of internal
and external customers to define, meet, or exceed design parameters.
*Provides technical recommendations for product
line and Identifies areas of opportunity for new
products based on market direction and customer needs.
*Communicates technical concepts and information
clearly and effectively through formal and
informal documents, in non-technical terms as appropriate.
*Monitor industry trends, new production
introductions and new technologies that PowerNow
can use to improve cost and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
*5 or more years of product design experience
required, incorporating high volume die-casting
and plastic parts and housings in a 3D design environment
*Applicable high-volume product experience (may
include lawn and garden products,
electro-mechanical power tools, cleaning tools,
kitchen appliances, vacuums, pumps and air moving equipment)
*Advanced knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes highly preferred.
*Solid hands on experience with FEA, GD&T,
Dynamics Analysis, SPC, and high speed assembly fabrication analysis desired
*Proficiency with 3-D modeling is required (Pro-E
or SolidWorks strongly preferred)
*Able to travel overseas to meet with suppliers
several times per year for engineering meetings,
prototyping and production builds (onsite for up to two weeks)
*Demonstrated innovative thinking and problem
solving skills and comfort with change management concepts
*Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and flexibility
*Proven leadership and decision-making skills,
experience in a leadership role preferred
*Exceptional organization, time management and
multi-tasking skills are essential.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

*Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or
equivalent Engineering degree is required.
