Junior Manufacturing Engineer

Heath Ceramics is a designer, manufacturer, distributor, and retailer
of ceramic tableware and tile. The company has a single location in
Sausalito, CA and has appx. 60 employees. This is an exciting
opportunity to play a key role in an organization that is not only

Heath's production operations consist of a production staff of 35-40
and a small production management team with broad responsibilities.
The Junior Manufacturing Engineer is a Production Management position
with a focus on production planning. This individual is responsible
for the scheduling process and procedures for all production of Heath
made dinnerware and tile. This role is also involved in development
and optimization of production processes for efficiency and
repeatability. Other areas of responsibility include production staff
supervision and training. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering
and 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Other
requirements include excellent analytical skills, organization,
attention to detail, and a talent for engineering process and systems
development. Individuals should be highly motivated to meet goals and
deadlines, focused on finding solutions, and team oriented in
approach. This is an important role in a transitional organization
that is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take
on a wide range of responsibilities within a small and flexible
manufacturing environment.

The job functions and responsibilities are described as follows:

Planning:
- Planning for raw materials supply.
- Maintenance of component and finished goods inventory levels.
- Analysis and Optimization of inventory levels and longer term forecasting.
- Planning for production efficiency and fast turnaround.
- Production data collection and analysis.
- Development of planning systems with built in predictability and
reliable on time delivery.

Manufacturing Process:
- Documentation of manufacturing processes.
- Optimization of workflow, manufacturing processes, and yields.
- Development and Assessment of procedures relating to both existing
and new products with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Development of predictable systems and processes.
- Cost analysis and cost reduction.
- Focus on Quality and Craftsmanship.

Staffing:
- Daily staff management and scheduling.
- Involvement in production staff hiring and training.
- Staff motivation, communication, and team building.
- Oversight of plant safety.

Compensation: This is a salaried position with compensation to be
determined based on qualifications and experience.
Benefits: the company pays 100% of employee plus 50% of spouse health
benefits which includes medical, dental, and vision. 401K options.
