Stratos Product Development is a full-service product design and
development company. We are leaders in the commercialization of
technology and the development of life science instrumentation,
medical devices, and consumer/industrial products. Over the past 20
years, Stratos has designed and created innovative products of all
kinds for clients ranging from start-ups to large corporations. We
employ a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technical experts, and
project managers at our downtown Seattle waterfront location near the

We are looking for an exceptional mechanical engineer with proven
technical ability and a passion for technology and great product
design. We are considering candidates both with moderate (4+ years)
and senior levels of experience. It is the quality of that experience
and who you are as an individual that matter most.
Responsibilities:
As part of the mechanical engineering team at Stratos, you will:
* work with outside clients to define product concepts and specifications.
* design mechanical solutions for these products, ranging from
precision mechanisms to handheld enclosures to pneumatic controls.
* collaborate with other disciplines (electrical and embedded
software engineers, industrial designers, and quality engineers) on
your project team.
* come up to speed quickly on new technologies and tools.
* work like a business owner, with both the client's and Stratos'
success in mind.

Qualifications:
* BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* product design experience in electronic products, medical
devices, or automation.
* experience in all phases of product development from proposal
and planning to verification and release
* expertise using Pro/Engineer and/or SolidWorks.
* design of injection-molded parts, sheet metal, castings,
machined parts, and other processes for production and prototyping.
* strong communication skills.
Preferences:
* expertise in mechanism design, mechatronics, or control systems.
* expertise in structural analysis and/or thermal analysis.
* experience in precision engineering, microfluidics,
micromolding, or optics.
* experience in medical device compliance, requirements capture,
verification, or regulatory testing.
