Mechanical Design Engineer / Product Designer: Contract position ~ 6 Months

Glacier Bay is seeking to revise the customer
facing components of the ClimaCab System
<http://www.climacab.com/>www.climacab.com –
Evaporator and Touchscreen user interface
modules. This design will repackage most of the
functional components of the current design.

We are seeking to bring a seasoned mechanical
design engineer / product designer to join our
development team from the initial concept design
phase through tooling program and product launch.

    * 5-10 yrs relevant industry experience –
must have an impressive portfolio of products
they have previously designed and successfully brought to production.
    * Extensive experience designing:
o Plastic injection-molded parts
o Sheet-metal parts
o Products with displays
o Products with complex wire harnesses
    * Bill of Materials management experience
    * Strong Knowledge of 2D drawing standards and GD&T
    * Strong analytic problem solving skills
    * Strong organization and documentation skills
The project will:
    * Designed 100% in SolidWorks
    * The design work will need to be done in
close collaboration with our in-house design team in Union City, CA
