R&D ENGINEER I

JOB SUMMARY:

· Design and develop next generation mechanical and
electro-mechanical devices used in treatment of ENT disease.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Design and develop new products, existing product line extensions,
and product improvements per design control requirements under the
direction of experienced engineers

· Execute completion of projects in an aggressive manner
· Contribute in generation of Intellectual Property
· Collaborate with experienced engineers working closely with
external partners in the development of new technologies and devices

· Contribute to and participate in Design Reviews
· Design, develop, execute, record, and analyze results of
system/device/component/material tests per laboratory best practices

· Develop test protocols, complete testing, and write test reports
per Quality System Requirements
· Interface with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing,
Development Partners, OEMs and Physicians
· Complete documentation to transfer designs to manufacturing

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or
equivalent experience)
· 0-3 years experience working hands-on in medical device engineering
· Demonstrated progress towards designing and developing complex
medical devices from concept phase through design development,
verification, validation, clinical trials, and market release

· Mechanical design experience preferred
· Experience with 3D CAD required, proficiency in SolidWorks preferred
· Experience with the design and development of catheters/guidewires
and integration of electronics with mechanical devices desired

· Able to effectively manage multiple design/development tasks and
activities in parallel with assistance from supervisor
