Artificial Muscle, Inc. (AMI) is a high-volume OEM manufacturer of
revolutionary motion products based on Electroactive Polymer Artificial
Muscle (EPAM(tm)) technology. With the Universal Muscle Actuator
platform, AMI enables forward-thinking companies to create new markets
and transform existing ones with a new generation of valves, pumps,
sensors, motors, generators, speakers, linear actuators and more.
Artificial Muscle Inc.'s clients include many Fortune 100 companies and
other high profile technology companies.
SUMMARY:
The Electronic Engineer is responsible planning, prioritizing, and
managing the design, fabrication, validation and installation of custom
test electronics used for the testing of EPAM actuators. The candidate
is expected to work with the testing group to develop test electronics
requirements and assist in the selection of new test equipment. The
Electronic Engineer should be fluent in analog circuitry design
(especially diagnostics), basic digital logic, control (relays,
switches, displays, etc.), measurement and electrical safety. High
voltage experience is desirable but not necessary as long as candidate
is willing to learn and comprehend high voltage design and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* The Electronic Engineer is responsible for implementing complete
custom electronic test apparatus
* Manage the planning, development, implementation and validation
of test fixtures and procedures
* Understanding testing requirements and insuring test fixture
designs meet the testing requirements
* Provides exceptional support to customers and team members.
* Review test fixtures for electrical safety
* Coordinate with technicians to get hardware built
* Demonstrate competence in design, communication and
effectiveness
* Exert a positive attitude in the work environment
* Document and maintain records of constructed equipment
* Value and work with a diverse group of individuals
QUALIFICATIONS:
* MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or related study
* 5+ years design experience - preferably in a technology
development environment
* Strong computer skills including analytical experience
* Proven track record in development of electronic test hardware
or related circuits
* Mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to "get your hands dirty"
to solve problems
* A high level of organization and the ability to meet deadlines.
* The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Possess excellent communication skills - both written and oral
EXPERIENCE:
* Experience designing analog circuitry and basic digital
* Experience with electrical testing and/or diagnostics.
* A basic understanding of polymer/dielectric materials.
* Experience with electromechanical test instrumentation
including multimeters, load cells, strain gages, oscilloscopes, and
laser displacement meters.
* Knowledge of electrical measurement techniques - especially
low current measurement and high voltage measurement.
