Position: Mechanical engineering
intern

Location: San Francisco, CA

Summary:
Faraday Bicycles is accepting applications for a
full time summer engineering intern to join our
team. This is a hybrid mechanical and electrical
engineering position best suited for a
mechatronics candidate with some ME design and
hands-on electronics skills. The ideal candidate
will be an exceptionally talented and creative
young engineer who looking to gain production
experience in a fast-moving consumer-product engineering environment.

This position is open immediately, and carries
the possibility of extending to full-time come fall.

Key responsibilities + expectations :
· Design of fixtures, sheet metal and machined production parts.
· Preparation, release, and management of engineering drawings.
· Building and debugging of test bikes.
· Implementing a bike test plan by riding
bikes and analyzing recorded performance data.
· Evaluating different OEM electronic
components such as motors and sensors.
· Simple machine shop work and fabrication.
· Communication with vendors.

Experience + Qualifications:
· BS or MS in mechanical or electrical engineering.
· Good to excellent CAD (Solidworks) proficiency.
· Basic machine shop proficiency.
· Some familiarity with 2D drawing preparation and tolerancing.
· Exposure to and competency with general
electrical shop tools (power supplies, soldering irons, etc.)
· Basic familiarity with simple
programming and microcontroller fundamentals.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Love of bicycles – what great engineer doesn’t?
