Description
The product reliability group at Alion is seeking a self-motivated
individual to manage product reliability testing programs and
coordinate mounting system certification programs. In addition, the
individual is expected to support the design and qualification of the
new solar mounting system. One of the deliverables of this job is to
ensure that the reliability of our mounting system meets or exceeds
industry standards and performs well during the entire 25 year
designed service life and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the design, development and qualification of the next
generation solar mounting system by identifying opportunities for
improvement of quality and reliability.
* Perform basic engineering analyses such as stress, tolerance,
material selection, risk analysis and FMEA.
* Design product test experiments, execute accelerated stress tests,
analyze product test data, present test results to management team,
and write technical reports.
* Design and oversee production of testing fixtures.
* Coordinate failure analysis activities for root cause
identification and provide mitigation plan for improvement of product
reliability and quality.
* Interact with UL or IEC for solar mounting system certification and
prepare all samples and documentation needed for certification.

Required Skills
* Experience developing and managing test programs in a manufacturing
or product development/engineering environment
* Strong hands on knowledge of DOE, FMEA and Failure Analysis
* Working knowledge of statistical and reliability methods/tools such
as JMP or Weibull+
* Working knowledge of SolidWorks
* Strong analytic work methodology and problem solving skills
* Strong communication skills to effectively work with customers,
vendors and colleagues.
* Excellent Project management skills with clear definition of
milestones and deliverables
* Working knowledge of UL and IEC certification standards a plus

Education and Experience
* BS or MS in Engineering degree; Mechanical engineering, Materials
Engineering or PE a plus
* 5+ years for BS or 3+ years for MS work experience in Photovoltaic
or Semiconductor or Electronics industry
