M.E./Product Designer

As the one Product Designer in a small mechanical engineering group,
you will bear the principal responsibility for the aesthetic and
human-factors design of Davis products, which include outdoor weather
stations, indoor display and control consoles, vehicle data-logging
modules, and recreational boating equipment used by consumers,
industry, and governments world-wide. You will also guide other
mechanical designers and contribute to the detailed mechanical design
of the products and to their introduction to manufacturing. You will
be challenged to design for high levels of performance at the lowest cost.

Requirements:

B.S. in M.E. or Product Design
Minimum five years experience in design of products for consumers or
light industry.
Demonstrated creativity in aesthetic design.
Skill in use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks in design of injection-molded
plastic parts.
Knowledge of plastic and metal materials and metal coatings and finishes.
Design of machined and sheet metal parts.
Knowledge of magnetism and static magnetic fields is a plus
Knowledge of optics and optical sensors is a plus
Excellent communication skills; ability to work smoothly with team
members of various disciplines and cultural backgrounds.

Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000 annually, depending on experience.
