The company is a medical device company developing cutting edge
technologies with orthopedic applications. The Sr. Design Engineer is
responsible for leading projects to develop implants and
instrumentation for minimally invasive procedures. This position will
function as both a project manager as well as product development
engineer. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.

Job Description:

    * Produce design concepts as well as detailed designs. Translate
the design inputs into a design that satisfies the requirements of
the project scope document . Produce the required design outputs.
    * Responsible for the design and fabrication of prototypes.
    * Leads the development of new products and serve as a key member
on a project team
    * Develop and maintain project schedules
    * Generate a comprehensive protocol for testing/analyzing the
product and perform tests
    * Generate design assurance documentation for the project
    * Provide technical support to Manufacturing Engineering, QA and
Regulatory
    * Attend surgical procedures and cadaveric lab test

Requirements:

    * 4-7 years experience in medical device R&D (Orthopedics preferred)
    * Working expertise of implant systems and instrumentation
    * Proven track record of multiple successful device launches
    * BS Mechanical Engineering
    * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
    * Hands-On Design Capability (Solidworks experience a plus)
    * Strong Project Management Skills
    * Start-Up experience strongly desired
