We are looking for an innovative Senior
Mechanical Product Design Engineer to lead the
mechanical design for the Sulon Cortex and next
generation products. Your expertise in product
design includes taking into consideration
aesthetics, functionality and manufacturability
to retain the integrity of the product’s
requirements and achieve cost efficiency in
component sourcing. This is a fantastic
opportunity for a highly creative problem-solver
with a keen interest to work on designing
cutting-edge consumer electronic products.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (Accountabilities/Responsibilities)

Key responsibilities/accountabilities will
consists of (but are not limited to):

• Leading the mechanical design for
product development of current and next
generation products to meet Marketing feature
requirements and Industrial Design goals.
• Preparing early design layouts and driving product architecture.
• Ensuring ODM Product Design
resources meet specifications and program
schedules to ensure delivery of high quality products.
• p; Ensuring clear and constant
communication with ODM Partners, Suppliers and
cross-functional and Product Design teams.
• ; Managing the design and component
specifications for electro-mechanical systems
such as Display, Audio, Batteries, RF Shielding, Thermal systems, etc.
• p; Sourcing components and services
based on component specifications.
• p; Participating in vendor evaluations and selection.
• Ensuring the product design meets DFX requirements.
• ; Ensuring products meet regulatory
and environmental mechanical safety standards.
• Researching new materials,
processes and novel technologies to meet product goals.
• p; Creating assemblies to integrate
mechanical, electrical, industrial design and manufacturing requirements.
• p; Optimizing mechanical designs for
quality and manufacturability.


WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU (Skills and Competencies)

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical
Engineering/BSME or relevant technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in consumer
electronics product design and development.
• Knowledge/working knowledge with
GD&T and engineering tolerance in design.
• Experience working with high
volume, highly cosmetic electronics, plastics and
integrated modules (audio, display, battery, PCBs).
• Excellent skills with 3D CAD and modelling using SolidWorks.
• ; Excellent knowledge of high volume manufacturing requirements.
• Experience with injection mold tool
design and metals for insert design.
• Experience with high-end finishes
(e.g. painted plastics, plating, molding/over
molding, and post processing methods).
• Interest in other disciplines such
as Industrial Design, Human Factors and Quality Control.
• ; Solid analytical skills including
strong understanding of materials and
manufacturing tolerances for various materials.
• p; Strong critical and creative
problem solving skills complimented by excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent work ethics with a “can-do” attitude.
• p; Must be a team player with strong
interpersonal skills and exceptional leadership
skills capable of motivating others into action.
• ; Ability to mentor and coach team
members and provide developmental guidance to
improve performance and increase productivity.
• p; Excellent communication skills
both verbal and written required to effectively
collaborate with team members, discuss ideas,
provide feedback and share knowledge.
