blu eCigs, a leading manufacturer of tobacco replacement devices, is
currently seeking an Manufacturing Engineer, located at our technology
office in Silicon Valley, CA. Come join our team of engineering all-stars
and be challenged with reinventing for the better one of the most broadly
used yet controversial products in history. Our innovative environment
provides the feel of a start-up, but with the backing of a company that's
been in business since 1760.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring our
product designs are optimized for manufacturing. This includes design for
assembly, manufacturing process selection and material specification.
You'll be involved in the design process from the very beginning and will
work closely with a cross functional engineering team to create designs for
consumer products and testing devices. You will also be a primary liaison
with our suppliers and manufacturers. When designs are ready for
production, you will lead manufacturing transfer, provide production ramp-up
support, and help maintain product documentation in accordance with ECO and
PDM processes. This position requires approximately 10% travel to
international and domestic manufacturing locations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or
related field
- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes including metal forming,
machining, and injection molding
- Familiarity with electronics and PCB manufacturing
- Familiarity with automation equipment and processes
- Demonstrable mastery of Design for Manufacturability concepts and
practices
- Superior verbal, technical writing and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have skills to work in a hands-on environment

Additional skills and experience that would be considered a plus:

- Familiarity with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience in high volume manufacturing or manufacturing design related
role, including factory involvement
- Experience in implementation of Six Sigma concepts
- Experience with die attach, wire bonding, and related packaging processes
- Experience at consumer electronics company in factory support role
