ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP

Engineers at iRhythm work passionately to deliver
innovative solutions that improve the quality of
health care and the patient experience. As an
Engineering Intern at iRhythm, you’ll contribute
directly to near-term commercialization efforts
for our next generation wearable bio-sensors,
collaborating alongside a small team of
multi-disciplinary engineers experienced in
bringing medical devices to market. You will be
treated as a regular member of the engineering
team, inclusive of the associated projects, deliverables and accountability.


ABOUT YOU

You should enjoy the challenge of breaking things
and chasing problems to their root cause. You
have a desire to build upon your solid foundation
in computer science, electrical engineering, or
biomedical engineering in order to gain a deep
understanding of the design and development
approaches that put innovative medical devices
into clinical and commercial use.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Characterize and qualify embedded software (AKA
firmware) for functional performance and interface accuracy
• Iterate through integration testing by
troubleshooting issues and isolating root causes
• Work with firmware engineers to correct and verify identified issues
• Devise and streamline test methods for maximum efficiency and automation
• Document firmware test characterization through
development of test protocols and creation of
test reports in an FDA-regulated environment


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Pursuing a degree or advanced degree in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
• Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Understanding of basic software engineering principles
• Experience with one of the following languages
with willingness to learn more: Python, C/C++
• Familiarity with software debugging in an embedded environment is beneficial
• Experience with oscilloscopes and test equipment preferred
• Ability to communicate and collaborate
effectively in a cross-functional environment
