Position Title: User-Centered Design Intern
Team: Strategic Innovation

Starting Date: June 1-20
End Date: September 15 (3 months)
Job Location: San Francisco, CA
Compensation: $20+/hr based on experience


The Position:

The User-Centered Design Intern will support
early phase ethnographic discovery, ideation,
synthesis, prototyping, and user testing on
Sennheiser’s Strategic Innovation team.
Responsibilities would range from hands-on
prototyping to assisting in user-centered
ethnographic interviews, ideation, and design.
This position reports to the Mechanical Design
Engineer (and User-Centered Designer) whose work
is equally split between mechanical
engineering/hardware prototyping and
user-centered design/user-experience
research/ideation process. The Strategic
Innovation team is a small, cross-functional team
that incubates new product concepts from ideation
to development, driving future-facing
technological and user-centered innovation within Sennheiser.



Works closely with:

Mechanical Design Engineer, UX Research team, Design Engineering team



Job Requirements:
   :: BS in Mechanical Engineering, BA in
Industrial Design or similar is preferred but not required.
   :: Familiarity with user-centered design
process is required, 1+ year experience preferred.
   :: Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as
Solidworks is a plus but not required.
   :: Demonstrated experience iterative rapid prototyping.



Responsibilities:
   :: Ideate and execute innovative design
concepts within Strategic Innovation project teams
   :: Draft concept sketches for rapid ideation and internal communication
   :: Translate user-generated insights and UX
research into innovative design concepts
   :: Deploy rapid prototyping workflows for
quick iteration cycles and iterative learning
   :: Assist in administration, documentation
and presentation of ethnographic interview process
   :: Conduct and support ethnographic interviews
