Hi students,

My name is Aubriana Menendez and I am a PD alum, class of '17.
Currently, I am a UX Research and Designer at a tech healthcare
company called <https://www.changehealthcare.com/>Change Healthcare.
We are looking to hire a paid UX intern for the summer of 2019
stationed out of our office in Emeryville, CA (near Berkeley).

About Change Healthcare and the UX/UI team:
Change Healthcare is primarily a B2B company focusing on creating
digital products that improve communication between healthcare
providers and insurance companies in order to decrease patient
burden. We have hundreds products across all aspects of the
healthcare industry from financial care, patient communications,
healthcare provider decision analytics, and so much more. The UX/UI
team at Change Healthcare's act as an "internal product consulting
group". Product teams within the company will hire us to redesign
their products and create new ones. We work with those teams to teach
them about the design process, facilitate research, and create the
designs. We are handling a large portfolio of diverse projects across
all stages of the design process. Our team is a friendly bunch of ~20
talented researchers and designers who foster an environment of
learning, support, and encouragement. We challenge each other to
always ask, "How can I do it better?" and "Who can I learn from on
the team?" Not only do we get a rare amount of variety in our
projects, but we also receive a lot of fulfillment from the work. We
are motivated to make patient's lives easier and reduce the various
points of friction we all know and experience in the healthcare industry.

About the role:
Our intern will have the opportunity to participates in all the
stages of the design process: conducting user interviews,
brainstorming solution spaces, prototyping, and facilitating user
testing sessions. We'll be sure to match you with projects that best
fit your interests. You will also get the unique experience of
learning about the business side of healthcare, an extremely complex
and nuanced field that will prove to be invaluable if they should
seek out future roles in healthcare (which is a growing space,
projected to be 1/5th of the US economy in the next few years)
