About Modular Bionics
Modular Bionics Inc. is a privately held company
dedicated to advancing neurotechnologies for
laboratory and clinical applications. We
currently sell products for neuroscientists and
recently received additional funding to
transition our technologies into a clinical product. We need your assistance!

Job Title:
Electrical Engineer (active implant medical device background preferred)

Position Summary
Electrical Engineer will develop state of the art
clinical neuromodulation implants and worn
devices for clinical research from design to
manufactured assemblies. Activities will also
include assistance with the design and
manufacturing of our neuroscience products. This
is a full-time salary position with flexible on-site hours.

Qualifications
We need a reliable individual with strong
communication skills who can shepherd the
electronics of an active implantable medical
device system from design through delivered
product. The desired individual possesses a range
of electrical engineering design and development
skills and experiences. Ideally, the candidate
has experience with active implantable devices in
neuromodulation or other clinical applications.
Experience with inductive charging and RF systems is a significant advantage.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated
individual who is excited by the prospect of
working on state of the art neuromodulation
technology in an environment that combines the
dynamic development of a medical device with the
research atmosphere of a neuroscience products company.

The ideal candidate is also flexible,
resourceful, and proactively manages own schedule.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is
required. Master’s degree in engineering is
desired. 3 years or longer industry experience is
preferred. Candidates with less industry
experience but extensive project experience will be considered.

Responsibilities and desired experience
    * Interdisciplinary communication and
teamwork from concept to delivered product.
    * A broad range of experience within electrical engineering is ideal.
    * Design, schematic capture, and layout of electrical circuits.
    * Testing and documentation of prototypes and products.
    * Management of portions of development
including relationships with suppliers.
    * Embedded system design and development.
    * Integration, debugging, and testing of a
range of systems (e.g., inductive power systems,
RF systems, and high-speed digital circuits).
    * Ensure that designs meet performance
specifications, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
    * Participate in concept generation
activities. Refine, rate, rank and/or otherwise assess concepts.
    * Familiarity with ASIC design (digital and/or mixed signal).
    * Familiarity with FPGAs and RTL.
    * Characterize, test, and debug proprietary and off-the-shelf RF systems.
    * Experience with embedded systems using custom antennas is ideal.
    * Performance of SPICE simulations to verify
circuit functionality and aid debugging efforts

company procedure. Ensure that DHFs are accurate, complete and well organized.
    * Conduct risk analysis for products under
development. Conduct and document Failure Mode
and Effects Analysis per company procedure.
    * Conduct product verification and validation
testing to demonstrate product safety and
efficacy. Determine what testing is required to
satisfy product requirements, to investigate
potential failure modes, and to otherwise address the project design inputs.
    * Develop protocols, plan testing, and
perform or monitor testing. Utilize statistical
methods as required to plan testing and to
analyze test results. Write test reports that
draw conclusions from the results.
