Molten Industries agrees with Stanford’s employer recruiting guidelines.

“Some people used their pandemic downtime to perfect sourdough recipes or try new fitness regimes. Kevin Bush and Caleb Boyd developed a new way of making hydrogen, using the electric-vehicle charger in a California garage to heat a home-built reactor above 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.” - Ed Ballard, Wall Street Journal

Molten Industries<https://www.moltenindustries.com/> is an Oakland, California-based startup commercializing breakthrough tech to produce low cost clean hydrogen to decarbonize heavy industry.

Molten just announced that they are part of Bill Gates' 2022 Breakthrough Energy Fellows cohort<https://breakthroughenergy.org/news/breakthrough-energy-expands-its-global-fellowship-program/> alongside their funding round from Fifty Years and Union Square Ventures. They were also recently featured in the Wall Street Journal<https://climate.cmail20.com/t/ViewEmail/d/723816FBAAD8511F2540EF23F30FEDED/86872142F5EE74E04FB5D4CAE8F50064?alternativeLink=False> newsletter on Climate & Energy and in Climate Tech VC’s weekly newsletter<https://www.ctvc.co/molten-decarbonizes-hydrogen/>.

Molten is on the lookout for amazing engineers to join their founding team who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and like working with really hot reactors. If you are interested in learning more please apply here<https://jobs.lever.co/moltenindustries> or reach out to caleb_at_moltenindustries.com<mailto:caleb@moltenindustries.com>.

The Role

As a core member of Molten’s early team, you will participate in the design and build out of chemical reactors and supporting systems to produce clean hydrogen using our proprietary technology. You will help design, build, evaluate, and test new ideas and setups as we scale from our bench-top prototype to industrial plants. You are a scrappy self-starter with a bias to action. You enjoy being hands-on and building physical systems, and you are comfortable translating complex problems into achievable goals. You are eager to play a key role in the fight against climate change.

What you will do
                                • Design, build, and run hydrogen production experiments on bench-top and pilot scale systems
                                • Hack, build, and troubleshoot physical prototypes for quick feedback loops and testing
                                • Work closely with a small technical founding team to push our hydrogen production technology from bench-top to industrial scale

What you will bring
                                • Working towards a BS / MS / PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
                                • Hands-on experience in prior internships, projects, classes, or hobbies is essential
                                • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

You do not need to have every listed skill to be a great fit! If you are passionate about this opportunity and think you have the skills to help our team succeed, please apply<https://jobs.lever.co/moltenindustries>!
