Automation Engineer, Systems( 1618)
Summary
This manufacturing engineering position will support manufacturing
operations for production of diagnostic instruments. The position
will perform troubleshooting and implement changes that improve
manufacturing quality and product performance, via activities such as
historical data analysis, test design, documentation, and
implementation/validation of equipment and process changes. Candidate
will collaborate with development to develop and refine process and
specifications for new systems and/or identity changes to existing ones.
Job responsibilities include:
* Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation,
repair, modification, or redesign) of company products using
knowledge of engineering disciplines
* Perform root cause analysis of field and internal failures and
drive the corrective action
* Define and implement performance/cost improvement opportunities
* Provide product technical expertise and support to manufacturing line
* Support proto and pilot builds and resolve technical and quality issues
* Maintenance and update of product functional specifications,
with supporting documentation
* Design and set up of experiments, as well as data collection
and report/justification writing
* Responsible for continual maturing of test infrastructure
Qualifications
* BS EE, ME or Physics required, MS EE or Physics preferred.
* 3-6 years experience with industry related manufacturing test
development
* Strong problem solving and analysis skills
* Solid and current knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and/or
optical components
* SQL experience preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
* This position requires interface throughout all levels and
functions of the organization; requires a cooperative team-balanced
perspective for appropriate output and task outcome

Automation Engineer, Mechanical ( 1592)
Automation Engineer position is responsible for the design and
development of assembly automation equipment for high volume
production of diagnostic disposables. The successful candidates will
provide support and direction in the development of new tooling and
machine concepts to improve production uptime and process capability
while promoting a lean manufacturing environment. You will be
required to develop an understanding of future production
requirements, then plan and implement modular, flexible equipment
systems to support those needs utilizing the newest and best technologies.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of detailed designs, testing and prototype fabrication.
* Design tooling, fixtures, and functional drawings using Solidworks
* Process development
* Interface with the venders and selecting components, motor, pnematics
* Support product transition to high volume manufacturing
* Modify existing equipment to improve product quality, increase
part throughout, decrease cost, and/ or strengthen safety measures.
* Author test protocols, reports & manufacturing documents
related to new processes
* Ensures GMP, Quality Systems, and applicable regulatory
requirements are met
* Troubleshoot post design transfer
* Executive of engineering Change Orders
Requirements:
* BS in Engineering or Sciences, or equivalent experience
* SolidWorks, Pro E, 3D design experience required
* Minimum 5 years mechanical design experience
* Industrial Automation and Plastics Industry experience preferred
* Hands on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in
a high-volume automated manufacturing environment required
* PLC and Industrial Controls experience a plus

Automation Engineer, Controls ( 1591)
Work in conjunction with Automation Engineering team to design and
develop automated assembly equipment for the high volume production
of diagnostic disposables. Candidates should have hands on experience
in design and development of PLC based control systems for use in
factory automation.
Responsibilities:
* Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control
systems and associated components.
* Configure, program, test and troubleshoot User Interface (UI)
software for PLC based control systems.
* Electrical design, testing, and commissioning of control
systems, control panels, and associated equipment.
* Provide technical, guidance, direction, and review of a systems
design, development, integration, and testing.
* Support and troubleshoot existing systems in production.
* Specify system components and suppliers.
* Participate in design reviews.
* Support for systems installation and commissioning.
Requirements:
* BS in Engineering
* PLC program design and development Allen-Bradley RSView and
ControlLogix experience preferred
* Minimum 5 years direct experience
* Industrial Automation Industry experience preferred
* Hands on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in
a high-volume automated manufacturing environment required.
