Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
Intuity Medical is a medical device company is
developing a greatly simplified glucose
monitoring system for people with diabetes. The
Company's proprietary technology re-invents the
glucose testing procedure making it easier and more convenient to use.

This novel, new technology profoundly changes the
competitive landscape of the $6 billion + glucose
testing industry. Testing convenience is cited as
one of the biggest barriers to frequent glucose
testing, Intuity’s new approach will revolutionize the way people test.

Intuity is a well funded, private company backed
by top-tier venture capital firms known for their
successes in the medical device industry. This
individual will have an opportunity to launch a
unique product with breakthrough potential in one
of the largest clinical diagnostic markets.

Position Summary:
With minimal guidance from Senior Engineering
Management, use sound engineering judgment to
perform M.E. analysis of designs using classical
engineering hand calculations and analysis
packages. Develop detailed designs from concept
to production ready with supportive documentation
and verification testing. Thermal, stress,
vibration and other mechanical engineering principals will be employed.

Position Description and Responsibilities:
• Oversee execution of prototype fabrication and builds
• Participate in conceptual design of mechanisms
and electro-mechanical systems using sketches and 3-D modeling software
• Manage lab personnel in design verification
testing using engineering lab equipment such as
push/pull tester, flow meter, sound meter, high
speed video and metrology equipment
• Write assembly process documents,
test/experiment procedures, test reports and status reports
• Participate in design reviews by generating
review material and presenting design review material
• Participate in generating intellectual property
to protect the company’s technological position and build value of the company
• Develop project schedules and lead other
engineering personnel in accomplishing the above tasks to defined schedules
• Manage external tooling programs

Position Qualifications:
• 5+ years in Product Development with proven
track record of successful design launch for high
volume manufacturability (Medical Device experience preferred)
• 3-D CAD and product data management (SolidWorks CAD experience preferred)
• Finite element analysis for stress and thermal analysis
• Tolerance stack analysis
• Statistical analysis
• Familiar with GMP and FDA design control documentation requirements a plus
• Previous experience in high volume part design
(plastic product design exp. required)

Minimum Education:
• Minimum education requirements BSME

Minimum Experience:
• 5+ years applicable product design with BSME
• 2+ years with MSME
