Meka is a spin-off from the MIT Computer Science Artificial
Intelligence Lab. Our work has been featured on the cover the New
York Times Magazine and has been selected as one of the Time
Magazine's Top Inventions. We have several humanoid robot projects
underway and are looking for the best-of-the-best to join our team.
We're looking for someone who has meticulous attention to detail and
is highly organized. We are currently looking for a top-notch
mechanical designer.
In this position you will assist with re-designing a humanoid robotic
head with 7 or more DOF, oversee fabrication, purchase stock
components, and do assembly and testing for a final product. An ideal
candidate will have experience in most of the following areas:
* Strong skills designing with SolidWorks Please include one or two
examples of a SW assembly involving an actuated mechanism that you
have designed.
* Machine shop experience with lathe, mill, bandsaw etc. a plus
* Understanding of stock mechanical components and DC motors.
Qualifications: 4+ years experience in design, assembly, and testing
of complex mechanical systems. Masters in ME preferred and a very
strong portfolio.
This is a summer position, 40 hrs/week. Pay DOE, from June
1-September 1. Meka Robotics is located on the edge of the Dog Patch
district in San Francisco, near the 22nd St. CalTrain station. Please
