Tesla Motors Manufacturing Engineering Internship

This internship is a position working with the engineers in the ESS
(battery) Manufacturing Engineering group. ESS MFG ENG is
responsible for developing the equipment and processes to manufacture
and test Tesla's ESS's at the San Carlos ESS factory.

We bring together electrical hardware, PC and embedded software,
mechanical jigs and fixtures, industrial robots, pneumatics, and
hydraulics to build the batteries. We then develop and define the
manufacturing process under the direction of which the factory will
use the equipment.

The intern we are seeking is [A] just finishing senior year of a BSME
on the way to a co-term or [B] between the first and second year of
an MSME. Extensive experience, interest, and proficiency in the PRL
and SPDL are sought after and will be interesting to read about in
your cover letter.

We use SolidWorks to design our mechanical parts and Altium Designer
to document our electrical work. We program PC applications in
Labview and VB. Our embedded work is done in C on PIC's. We
document the manufacturing process in Word, Visio, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

When:
15-Jun-2009 to 18-Sep-2009, with 1 week of vacation interspersed.
