Pocobor is looking for an entrepreneurial,
multi-disciplinary engineering student to join us
in San Francisco for the summer to work on early
stage mechatronics and electro-mechanical system
development. This is an unpaid position.

WHO ARE WE?
Pocobor is a smart product design firm that works
on a combination of engineering consulting
projects and internal technology
development. Our niche lies at the intersection
of mechanical engineering, electronics and
software. We specialize in early-stage device
and technology research and design, including
prototyping and proof-of-concept. On the
consulting side of operations, our clients range
from stealth-mode startups to global Fortune 25
companies. We have worked mostly within the
clean tech, medical device, consumer product, and
automotive industries. On the internal
technology development front, our goal is to
develop dynamic, innovative technology that can
be quickly and effectively commercialized.

WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for someone to help us with
engineering design and development for multiple
different projects. We want to find someone who is:

· Passionate about and conversant in
mechanical, electrical and software design and
particularly in systems where those areas
intersect (e.g. robotics and other electro-mechanical systems)
· Self-directed and able to thrive
working fairly independently on open-ended projects and tasks
· Organized and a strong analytical thinker
· Upbeat and a hard worker who can communicate ideas effectively
· Excited about the role of hardware in
the continued evolution of how people use the internet
· Loves taking things apart and seeing how they work
· Experienced with some (or ideally all) of the following skill sets:
1. Programming embedded devices in C (bonus points for assembly)
2. Mechanical design (Solidworks preferred)
3. Physical prototyping with hand tools and in the machine shop
4. Circuit design and prototyping
5. Integration, testing and debugging of
mechanical, electrical and software systems
6. Higher level programming including user
interfaces and various communication protocols

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
· A strongly entrepreneurial, work hard /
play hard environment surrounded by people with a
broad and diverse base of experience
· To learn a lot about the technology
development and commercialization processes for a
widely varied set of applications and industries
· To have a meaningful role in the design
and development of novel technologies and systems
· Not to sit in a cubicle
