Nikon Research Corporation of America (NRCA),
located in Belmont, CA (SF Bay Area) is a
50-person R&D subsidiary of Nikon, Japan. We
primarily work on future generations of
semiconductor lithography machines (wafer
steppers). The engineering is challenging and
fun, because with nanometer-level accuracy
everything matters. The work environment is
great because we have the informality and
flexibility of a small company, but the stability
and resources of a big parent in Japan.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for
developing novel electromechanical,
optomechanical, and metrology systems with
nanometer-level precision for future lithography
systems. This person will work on a small team
(2~4 engineers) through all phases of prototype
design and testing and the initial design of
production systems. Experience with mechanical
design of cleanroom equipment, 3D solid modeling,
and debugging of mechatronic systems are required.
Requirements
· MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering
· Experience with integration, debugging,
and evaluation of mechatronic systems
· Strong mechanical design skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to work independently
Preferred Additional Skills
· FEA proficiency
· Experience with programming in Matlab or C.
· Experience in the field of Materials Science.
· Experience designing semiconductor or precision equipment.
