QBotix is re-inventing the design of solar
tracking systems through the power of
robotics. A start up backed by the largest
tier-1 Silicon Valley VC’s. We are looking for a
part-time during academic year and/or full-time
summer paid interns who are ambitious and
interested in becoming key parts of our development team.

Position Description
This Software Engineering intern will work on the
System Engineering team and interact with
multiple teams and business units at
QBotix. Develop an understanding of our data
collection, representation, and analysis
projects. Responsible for various projects
within these areas, which may include developing
tools for data analysis, web services, data
management and testing. Be involved in
maintenance of current research studies and fleet
management, working within the existing software
frameworks to solve interesting problems
independently. Working with the Systems
Engineering and Operations teams, this intern
will play a key role in developing internal and
external data analysis and reporting tools. This
role includes collaboration with engineers,
marketing and business strategists. Due to the
collaborative nature, the candidate must have the
ability to work across teams and be able to wear multiple hats.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates must possess a theoretical and
practical knowledge of software engineering to be
a fit for this role. At the same time, they must
be a strong cultural fit, sharing our passion to
bring disruptive technology to market (and
robots) at a start-up’s feverous pace.

Be pursuing a BS or MS degree in computer
science, information technology, engineering or
math and have excellent programming skills.

· Well-versed in Object-Orientated
programming concepts and languages including Python and C++
· Theoretical and some practical experience
with SQL, relational databases like MySQL and Django
· Familiarity with programming concepts
like RESTful web services and JSON
· Experience with development in Linux environments
· Familiarity with Linux server deployment (Apache, Ngnix)
· Comfortable with command-line interface
· Comfortable with TCP/IP sockets
(especially Python Twisted and SSL sockets)
· VCS such as GIT
