Mechanical Engineering Intern, Intuitive Surgical (Sunnyvale, CA)
Do you want to work on a medical instrument project that potentially
improves the lives of millions?
Intuitive Surgical has an opening for a summer internship in the
Instrument Engineering group. We are seeking a talented individual to
contribute to an exciting surgical instrument project for tele-robotic surgery.
Responsibilities
* Design small mechanisms on the instruments.
* Run performance tests to characterize device. Analyze data and
write reports that include statistical data.
* Design, assemble and debug mechanical life test fixtures for
various mechanisms.
* Perform life testing on mechanism, analyze results and write reports.
* Design test fixtures for device.
* Perform and document mechanical assembly of intricate mechanisms.
Qualifications
* Experienced with Solidworks CAD package.
* Strong skills in experimental methods and data analysis.
* Some mechanical design experience preferred.
* Must have excellent communication skills.
* Basic understanding of mechanism design required.
* Must be concurrently enrolled in a college degree program in order
to qualify for an internship.
