Design Summer Internship, CRAVE (San Francisco, CA)

CRAVE, a manufacturer of luxury adult toys for women, is seeking
candidates for multiple paid three-month summer internships. Interns
will get hands-on experience in design, production, and
entrepreneurship while working alongside the business and design
leaders of an early-stage start-up that's received acclaim in
publications like The New York Times, Gizmodo, The Huffington Post,
Fortune, and dozens of other news, lifestyle, and technology publications.

Activities will vary over the course of the summer but in a typical
day, a Crave intern may participate in a product planning meeting
with the executive team, design a 3D model of a new component and
then prototype it in the in-house machine shop, sit in on a focus
group with customers, and work alongside the operations manager to
map out a distribution plan for supporting a new retail channel.

The ideal intern has strong functional skills as well as the ability
to thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment and a strong
desire to be exposed not only to the entire product development
process, but also to the work involved in building a company, a
brand, and a thriving community of delighted customers. As a member
of a collaborative team who will also interface with vendors and
external sources, good communication skills are necessary too.

SKILLS:
Enthusiasm for tackling a variety of tasks
3-D modeling: Solidworks proficiency is preferred
Ability to integrate mechanical design with electrical systems
Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping
