JOB DESCRIPTION
Angaza needs a creative and motivated electrical
engineer to join our team in Palo Alto/San
Francisco, California. Responsibilities include
designing and optimizing solar energy hardware;
supporting ongoing manufacturing; assisting with
firmware development; working on collaborative
research in low-cost distributed metering;
traveling occasionally to field sites across the
world; and helping to solve any of the unforeseen
and exciting challenges that are likely to emerge
in a rapidly changing startup environment.

If hired, you will report to Angaza’s CTO and
become part of a small team creating a new
approach to energy financing in emerging markets.
You will receive both a salary and equity stake in the company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, simulate, and prototype hardware for novel solar energy concepts
• Work with partners on testing and
manufacturability during high-volume production
• Actively participate in product development discussions
• Jointly support embedded software development with other team members
• Shape the Angaza engineering culture and future growth path

ATTRIBUTES DESIRED
• Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
required; M.S. degree preferred; Ph.D. a plus
• Strong circuit design and printed circuit board layout skills required
• Working familiarity with software engineering
and firmware development required
• Past experience with principles and practice of
digital comms, especially signal processing and error correction, a plus
• Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly and efficiently
• Effective negotiation and vendor management skills
• Comfort with international travel
• Happiness in a dynamic, flexible atmosphere,
with previous startup experience a plus
