About Us: SoniTrack Systems is a small NIH-backed
startup company that recently spun out of
research labs at Stanford University. Our
technology integrates robotics and ultrasound
imaging to enable precision targeting for
radiation therapy. The founders include an
engineering PhD graduate and two Stanford
professors. We are located in Palo Alto, CA.
About This Opportunity: We have an immediate
opening for an outstanding mechanical engineer
who can lead the development of our R&D hardware
prototypes in preparation for human trials. The
ideal candidate will combine a strong background
in medical robotics with desire to work as a
member of a small, dynamic start-up team. The
initial position is a paid short-term development
contract (full time or part time), with the
possibility of continuing long-term as a core engineering team member.
Minimum Qualifications:
· BS or higher in mechanical engineering or related field
· 3+ years of experience designing robots
or similar mechatronic systems in industry and/or academic settings
· Proven ability to rapidly iterate mechanical designs
· Strong assembly/fabrication skills
· Experience integrating complex electromechanical systems
· Experience building real-time control systems
· High proficiency using Solidworks (or equivalent CAD system)
· High proficiency in C/C++ programming
· Strong analytical skills
· Works well in a small team
Bonus Qualifications:
· MS or PhD in engineering
· Medical robotics design experience
· Exposure to medical device quality systems
· Experience with design for manufacture and design for assembly
· Knowledge of finite element analysis and fatigue testing
· Hardware evaluation experience in the clinical setting
