  Senior Mechanical Engineer,
LUNAR
San Francisco, CA
08.30.13

LUNAR’s San Francisco office is looking for you:
an exceptionally talented Senior Mechanical
Engineer who has been successfully designing
products for many years. You have experience as
the lead engineer on projects, guiding a team of
mixed disciplines to the best technical solutions
and guiding the client to the best choices.
Engineering at LUNAR demands exceptional
mechanical conceptualization, analysis and
visualization skills. Also essential are flawless
communication skills (spoken, written and
sketched), creative thinking, sound judgment,
organization, diplomacy, thoroughness,
professionalism, humor, and an uncanny desire to do great work.

About Us: LUNAR is a leading creative force in
the practice of design, product development, and
product engineering. With offices in San
Francisco, Chicago, Hong-Kong and Munich, LUNAR’s
broad international perspective enables us to
design for a global audience. Our passion is
creating beautiful, ingenious and charismatic
products that are relevant to the people who use
them. Our diverse designers, engineers and
thinkers draw from many viewpoints, sources of
inspiration, and histories to infuse our award
winning work with emotion and meaning, as well as
functionality and brand presence. This position is in our San Francisco office.

About the Position: Clients come to LUNAR to
instill charisma, beauty and ingenuity into their
products. Our engineers are the keystone of this
capability, working hand-in-hand with our world
class designers, clients and suppliers to achieve
unparalleled results. As a member of this
international team, you will be responsible for
developing innovative and transformative product
concepts and turning them into the world’s best
products. Specifically, you will:

Responsibilities

· Client management: setting, managing and exceeding their expectations
· Budget and schedule planning of the engineering portion of projects

· Actively contributing to the entire
engineering team in terms of knowledge growth,
process improvement and mentoring.

About You: Beyond your excellent grasp of how
things interact in 3D, you have a desire to
create products that look, feel and work great
and which continue to delight their users long
after they recycled the packaging. You understand
the importance of fulfilling user needs, you care
about sustainability and you’re passionate about
creating products that make a difference. You are
a self starter and comfortable juggling multiple
projects concurrently. You have experience in a
variety of markets and types of products that
bring immediate contributions to the table, and
you have confidence in your ability to learn
quickly when out of your comfort zone. You have a
desire to exceed clients’ expectations, and a
hunger to lead the technical product development
on tight schedules and budgets. You are, as we
say at LUNAR, a fearless reality creator.
