Intern I – Device Development and Clinical Packaging Engineering
Location: Foster City, CA

Description

Specific Responsibilities & Desired Outcomes:
    * Execute prefilled syringe stability testing
including break loose/glide force, needle shield
removal, and container closure integrity testing.
Record data in electronic laboratory notebooks
and author any relevant reports.
    * Develop methods for preparation and
administration of Gilead long-acting injectable products.
    * Enable selection of device components for
clinical study and evaluate suitability of
preparation/administration methods for clinical
dosing. Assist in pharmacy manual development.
    * Support execution of human factors studies
for Gilead long-acting injectable products
through preparation of hand-assembled and
packaged kits used for study. Assist with
creation and evaluation of instructions for use documentation.
    * Evaluate potential connected device options
for auto-injector presentations of Gilead long-acting injectable products.

Candidate Experience, Knowledge, and Area of Study:
    * Junior or Senior class level status
    * Pursuing degree in mechanical engineering,
chemical engineering, biomedical engineering,
materials science, or related field
    * Strong verbal and written communication skills
    * Strong technical writing skills
    * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability
to work effectively with people
    * Pro-active approach for supporting and managing projects
    * Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications
    * Working knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred
