About FARAPULSE

FARAPULSE is a medical device company developing
a new technology for cardiac
ablation. Tissue-selective FARAPULSE PFA has
emerged to be one of the most promising energy
sources for cardiac ablation, including pulmonary
vein isolation. Combining speed with safety,
FARAPULSE PFA makes durable lesions in a manner
of micro-seconds while sparing non-target tissue.
FARAPULSE is advancing its PFA tissue-selective
therapy on catheter-based and surgical platforms
for both endocardial and epicardial
approaches. Over 150 patients have been treated
with cardiac ablation catheters designed by FARAPULSE.

Job Summary

The Senior Catheter Engineer will work with the
Engineering and R&D departments to participate in
the development of new cardiac ablation
catheters. This engineer will work with cross
functional team members, suppliers, and contract
manufacturers. The engineer should be able to
design and build prototypes with minimal guidance
and should be highly motivated. The engineer
will develop catheters from prototype through production.


Qualifications:
    * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or
Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
    * 3+ years catheter/sheath design experience
(including steerable catheters and handle mechanisms)
    * 5+ years medical device experience
    * Solidworks experience, hands on prototyping
skills, mechanism design, plastic part design
    * Understanding of catheter materials (Pebax, Nylon, PTFE, PEEK, FEP etc.)
    * Experience with multi lumen catheter design
and construction processes (braiding, steer wires, swaging, tipping, etc.)
    * Familiar with Design Control procedures, FMEA
    * Familiar with ISO 13485, and the MDD/MDR
    * Verification and validation testing experience
