Scoreboard

While conceptually simple, the scoreboard and timer displays for Soccer Pinball proved to be one of the most challenging components of the project, due in large part, to early unintended design decisions. Specifically, the decisions to choose oversized displays with more LEDs per segment (which therefore required higher voltages and currents) and to purchase the cheaper common cathode displays (which require high-side switching) proved to be far more significant than was initially understood.
