The Class

Our class, ME218a, is part of a year-long sequence on Smart Product Design - the interesection of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science enginerding [sic].

According to the Stanford Course Bulletin, ME218a is a "team design project series on programmable electromechanical systems design. Topics: transistors as switches, basic digital and analog circuits, operational amplifiers, comparators, software design, programming in C."

But we don't think this captures the essence of the class well. We describe ME218a as:

• "How to make remote controls from scratch"
• "Robots building robots"
• "Trading your sleep and soul for a few electrons"
